Smaller than the main arms, these ended in long elegant fingers that complimented the more muscular digits of the upper set.
Andrasti are not native to the environs of the Milky Way's orbiting globular cluster. They are transplants from their home galaxy, which was consumed by Clockmaker spores some 15'000 years prior to their First Contact with the United Federation of Planets. The Bootes Void, a galaxy-wide patch of space devoid of all light, was the location of this home galaxy. Their retreat to the Milky Way was complicated by the fact the Clockmakers gave chase, hunting down two of the three Arks that were launched. The third and final Ark implemented a last-ditch attempt to stave off extinction, by having its population escape at sunlight speeds whilst the Ark itself became a trap to entangle the Clockmakers.

This tactic was highly successful, as the Clockmaker swarm that attacked this Ark was held in stalemate for thousands of years until the crew from the USS Traveller disrupted that equilibrium. During this event, the processing core for the Ark's guiding intelligence, the Simulated Consciousness of a dead Morning Star Imperium soldier by the name of Clee'san, was recovered and brought aboard the Traveller.

It later turned out that Clee'san's unique state of being was a perfect counter to the digital predations of The Myriad, and a deal was struck between the Andrasti warrior and the Captian of the Traveller: in exchange for providing them with the upper hand in their deals with the Myriad, they would use their ships mission to hunt for signs that her people successfully made it Messier 4.

A deal that seems to have come to fruition, as evidence leads the Traveller's crew into the heart of Messier 4 in search of the Morning Star Imperium.

During discussions with Science Department anthropologists and ethnologists, Clee'san has alluded to a strict military imperial culture focusing on the good of the many over the few. The cool and detached manner by which she describes the millennia-long battle against the Clockmakers in her home galaxy, and the detonation of her home star to boost the Arks on their way, is a testament to the strength of that conviction.

The Builders are able to quickly build biological structures to meet the needs of many environments. Overall they tend towards anthropoidal forms, with many aspects of their physiology being similar to that of old Earth's crustacean lifeforms. Known Builder formats include 'Shovel Heads', massive 30-foot tall giants with tri-symmetry arms and legs routing from a central torso that are the physical powerhouses of their race, and Chatty who was rapidly designed to interact with humans following the assimilation of the Starfleet/Federation First Contact Primer broadcast by Canopus Station. Due to the rapid nature of Chattys creation, they have enthusiastically stated they will be making something much more 'friendly looking' than an armour-plated starfish as big as an average human being.
Key Points
They are a migratory species, travelling on a haphazard orbit around the Milky Way Galaxy hopping from star cluster to cluster. They do this in massive Starjammers, sublight vessels with engines on both ends so as to avoid tearing their ships apart in turning around to decelerate from cruising speed. Their technology is advanced enough to impact the magnetic field of two ice giants in the outer Carpathia star system, but they do not have warp drive.

They are the first arrivals of a 10 to 20 thousand fleet of Starjammers but proclaim peaceful intentions. Only time will tell.
Casstaulli can range from five to ten metres in length, with size neither denoting gender or station within society. They are closely related to the Ophidia of Earth, in the fact they arose from large invertebrate reptiles with overlapping scales and cold bloodedness. In their evolution they retained the use of forelegs as they grew in intelligence, becoming quite adept tool users and insightful philosophers.

A cornucopia of species traits can be seen throughout Casstauilli society, from downer and plain patterns of scales, to flaring hoods of impressive design. These features are often augmented through the use of dyes and staining agents.

Key Points
On the arid moon of Casstaul, the ancestral home of their race, they dress in simple mass produced wares and aspire to little technical innovation. Fibre optics and microwave transmitters are the height of their society, as seen to by the Myriad who act as their overlords.

But within the clouds of Resshixs, on one of the many floating cities that hide within the clouds of the gas giant, they dress richly in veils and shawls of molecularly treated silks and spun meta diamond.

But this dichotomy is not an advent of evolution, as both Casstaulli and Resshixi are of the same species. It is a ploy used over the past three hundred years to hide away the advanced nature of their society from the prying and harmful intent of the Myriad. When the Casstaulli first ventured into space, they did so not to spread out in all directions but to explore and know fully all things. They spent a long time in their own solar system, and it was through this dedication they learned of the Myriad. A survivor from a world euthanised by their ire limped to Casstaul, and warned them.

“If the Myriad visit your world, leave.”

With the evidence of the alien and their warp vessels’ records, the Casstaulli began a crash program of development and concealment. Evidence of their spread across their star system was eradicated and obfuscated, and the creation of the first ariel metrpollis’s in Resshix’s atmopshere began. Their great work took a hundred years (1534CE) and in their success they divided their society in two. One would remain hidden, advanced and always preparing for the day of their unveiling. The second would exist on Casstaul, depicting a prewarp culture on the cusp of breaking out into the unknown.

This ruse was used without need for nearly 30 years, before the Myriad arrived. A single ship entered orbit, revealing itself as the beneficial ambassador of a grand interstellar trading empire. Over the centuries that followed the home system of the Casstaulli was pillaged, the asteroid belts mined, the lesser moons and worlds of their home system ravaged by the unscruplious greed.

But they await their moment, preparing for the day that will signal the end of the Myriad’s hold over Messier 4.

The Burning Of Casstaul & The Exodus
With the knowledge that there was an advanced race within Messier 4 friendly to Federation interests, it was decided to approach the Casstaulli in regards to an official First Contact and the opening of diplomatic relations. The USS Traveller, with its history and working relationship with the Casstaulli diplomat Mazarian, was chosen for this mission. Arriving on the outskirts of the system the Traveller discovered a camouflaged starship hiding in the Oort Cloud. This turned out to be the current instantiation of an artificial being calling itself Innocent Bystander, the progeny of the Benefactor who had sheltered the Casstaulli so many centuries before.

Following this discovery, the Traveller sent a stripped-down fighter on a ballistic course across the system with a one time use quantum communication system, which would allow the larger Starship to perform a micro slipstream jump into the upper atmosphere of Resshixi. Once within the shielding clouds of Resshixi the Traveller docked with the megastructure created by the Casstaulli to house their population from the Myriad: the City Of Brass. Once docked within the City of Brass the crew of the Traveller were greeted with welcome arms by most of the officials of Casstual.

But no sooner had talks begun, than word reached them that their ancestral homeworld, still populated with a token civilisation, was aflame. Using a Prior device called a Spitting Cobra, the Myriad had unleashed a close-range Coronal Mass Ejection event. They then turned that weapon onto the clouds of Resshixi, and the Traveller's crew and the Casstaulli rushed to evacuate. During a battle held high above the clouds of Resshixi the Traveller was able to deploy one of Starfleet's new Silver Bullets, subspace weapons banned by Milky Way treaty but allowed in intergalactic space. The weapon's effectiveness was not witnessed, as the Traveller warped away with the Castaulli following them.
Base: Non-Mammalian Technologic Sentient
Tech Level: (Alpha: Pre Warp. Beta: Warp Capable. Delta: Able to harness ALL available resources. Gamma: Q level.) Beta/Delta.

Physical Descriptors
Many. The Myriad are an ‘Unbound’ race who shed their physical forms millennia ago, choosing to inhabit vast starships that could roam the stars. They can inhabit Proxies who act out their will with the races of the Bound, their term for traditional sapient life. These Proxies are generally tailored to best suit the ideals of beauty and perfection for the target species.
Proxies tend to have increased strength and stamina, being bio-mechanic constructs that are little more than remote-controlled drones for the Myriad. Their construction and manufacture are unknown to Starfleet at this time. Important note, whilst all Proxies are designed to interface ideally with a client species, they are all tailored to the same colour scheme to set them apart. Skin as white as comet ice, and hair like spun diamond thread, with eyes that burn like the embers of a heated forge.

Key Points
The Myriad control a vast swath of Messier 4’s edge that is facing the Milky Way. Their control stems from poisoning the wells of numerous starfaring civilisations. Some are visited by the Myriad before attaining warp flight, whilst other’s are sabotaged so their efforts produce negative results. This includes sabotaging their prototype warp vessels or causing an ecological disaster.
In either case, the Myriad are quick to step in to offer aid from an advanced and enlightened civilisation. They then control this civilisations access to higher technology and star travel, utilising their ships to uphold a brutal monopoly. This monopoly is further increased by the stories and factual accounts of civilisations that rose up against the Myriad. Most are wiped out, their worlds bombarded by comet fragments until the crust is molten. Some are merely brutalised back into a lesser state of society by gene targeting viruses, forever kept as a lesson to be paraded past the noses of those who grow restless under Myriad management.
Agreeing to take the Myriad as a patron for your species comes with a lot of contractual obligations, to avoid these terrible consequences. Access to resources, to the gathered knowledge of a society, to the future insights of their greatest thinkers is but the lesser end of the spectrum. The Myriad also do a roaring trade in transplanting the expertise of another civilisation to another by trading the lives of sentients, and in supplying cultures with various narcotics and technologies of ill-repute. All to keep the masses docile, to keep their pets in line.
Their reasons for this mode of control is unclear, though some Myriad have made references to the fact warp travel leaves behind an indication to other extragalactic parties that races have arisen to a point of being competition. This thin veneer of guardianship and protection does little to salve the atrocities the Myriad have committed against Messier 4.

Known Myriad Agents
*Abborax: Trader and privateer of the Myriad House Of Moths, and first point of contact for the USS Traveller and Starfleet within Messier 4. Ship name The Insessor.
*Lady Nyessix: Slave trader within the Sleepers Bazaar, and member of the House Of Foxes. The first point of contact for the crew of Canopus Station. Ship name Accession of Twilight.
*Haztor: Diplomate and trader for the Myriad House of Foxes.
*The High Executor: Leader of the Myriad Houses. Current location The Medina, high gravity space station amid a cloud of silent dead warp ships.

Known Myriad Houses
*House Of Moths: A collective of Myriad biologists and genegineer's responsible for the host of Myriad bio constructs. From tailor-made narcotics to gene designed animal species and designer viruses, these virtuosos can waro living matter to suit any need. They are also the house responsible for the creation of the Concordance faith implant, and its subsequent effectiveness.
*House Of Foxes: Traders and spies. This line could be used to describe the Myriad as a whole, but the House Of Foxes take it to a whole new level. They revel in the minutia of contracts, make a grand game of the deal, and could possibly sell starlight if they could figure out how to bottle it. They are also the diplomats of the Myriad, with the closest ties to their hidden ruler the High Executor.
*House Of Suns: This house of the Myriad is the technical brain trust of the group. Whilst all Myriad have access to the sum total knowledge of their kind, much in the same way that all Federation citizens have free access to information, the House of Suns is populated by those who understand it. These are their experts on the Priors and their chief ship and weapon designers. They are also the most cognitively & morally flexible of the Myriad, and in some cases have been known to act against the best interests of their kind in exchange for unique bequests.
Worlds Of Note
Perambulation, a world inhabited by a client species the Myriad killed off.
Medina, the star around which the fortress of the High Executor orbits along with their collection.
Morits Dis, homeworld to the Cordanti. A failed client species who have since risen up a major competitor and threat to Myriad rule in the form of The Concordance.

BioHazard Level: BL5, no known cure or treatment. EXTREME CAUTION

Fungus Description
Grey and dust like in form. Under magnification individual spores resemble the seeds of dandelions, with frilled cilia on their outer cell walls allowing for air circulation systems and currents to speed them on their way. The chitinous outer cell wall is notably thicker than on more common Milky Way species, providing the spore with added longevity under extreme conditions.

Infection Progression
STAGE One: Fungal Infection
Spores enter the body, either through inhalation or through open wounds or fluid transfer. Upon contact, the fungus’s air catching cilia begin to expand out, and under magnification can be seen to be seeking out nearby cells. Upon contact the cilia engulf the cell, coating it in the fungus. The fungus then transfers through the host cell membrane and implants itself within the host.
Through this process, the fungus is able to transfer rapidly to the cardiovascular system and begin to implant within the haemoglobin of Red Blood Cells or other high oxygenating transfer proteins. It is important at this time to point out the host’s immune system is reacting to the infection.
SYMPTOMS: Increased temperature. The protein markers left behind by the digestion of fungal spores by Host immune system can be picked up by Xilosian test patches.
STAGE Two: Neural Invasion
Infected red blood cells have now begun to cycle through the cardiovascular system. Upon reaching the blood-brain barrier, infected Red Blood Cells are still able to transfer oxygen to the brain. But in a process as of yet unknown to Starfleet Medical, the Concordi chytridion mortis is able to force the endothelial cells to select it for crossing into the extracellular fluid of the central nervous system.
Once within the extracellular fluid the fungus begins to spread rapidly, the cilia now guiding the infection throughout the neural mass of the host.
SYMPTOMS: Hiehgtened adrenal response, a-typical behaviour patterns from pre-infected norms. Most noticeably a heightened fear response. Self-imposed paranoia, possible designed trait to keep infected away from aid.
STAGE Three: Implant Construction.
At this stage an apoptosis reaction begins within the fungal infection. The cell walls begin to break down, and the fungus dies. At this point, it has spread out throughout the brain with concentrations within the hypothalamus, limbic, as well as the hippocampus and prefrontal lobe. There is also a noted concentration within the thalamus.
As the fungus decomposes within the brain, new structures begin to assemble. Under electron microscopic analysis these appear to be self-organising nanotubes made of superconductive material. They begin to interconnect, embedding themselves in nearby neurons and other nanotubes. Soon this sub-neural network is complete, tying the disparate infection sites together through the thalamus as a central processing node.
SYMPTOMS: Heightened paranoia, heightened threat responses, irrational anger. Hypertension. Fever. Some cases have shown bleeding from eyes and nose. Possible infection vector?
STAGE Four: Implant Activation.
Once completed the implant activates. The process by which it operates is unknown. The host is able to detect other infected individuals, this is done via the implants direct tap into the olfactory nerves. Air sampling of quarantined personnel have detected chemical traces unique to the infection, and have postulated a heightened sense of smell in infected patients.
By this method the implant is able to guide its new host, allowing infected to be seen as family, friends, a deeply held trust. Whereas the uninfected trigger a rapid threat response. Instances of psychosis and irrational behaviour have been noted.
When isolated and interrogated via holographic means, with the air saturated to 1 part per billion of the chemical markers of the infection, patients have reported a sense of religious euphoria. Some have tried to hang this sensation on to prior belief structures, but others have not. It is postulated that it is this state that has allowed the Concordance to remain a viable whole during its existence as a Messier 4 power.
SYMPTOMS: Religious fixation, psychosis, increased endurance. (48 hours after initial activation patients have been positively confirmed as no longer being infection through spore inhalation. It is possible to be infected by a Stage Four carrier via fluid transfer.)

Cure/Vaccine
At this time work on Canopus Station and USS Sherman Potter is ongoing. A potential vaccine might be possible with further study.
Removal of the implant has been attempted through chemical and direct intervention. The former had no effect, whereas nanomachine intervention on the implant directly resulted in a thermal overload that severely damaged surrounding neural tissue. The patient was placed into a medically induced coma and has remained that way with minimal neural activity. It is theorised this a anti-tampering or self destruct feature.
Other Messier 4 powers have access to vaccines or cures, but as of publishing this advisory, there is no such access to these for Starfleet or Federation Personel.

BioHazard Warning
Physical Descriptors
Varied. The Concordance, much like the Breen Confederacy, is a hodgepodge of sentient humanoids with a common societal framework. The original base species for the Concordance, and the majority of their leadership base, are short grey furred humanoids. Stubby fingers, bright intelligent eyes, but with recessed nasal and auditory organs. Muscular and bone morphology suggests a herbivore base for evolution. Maximum height of a Cordanti is 1.5 meters.

Key Points
The Concordance did not start off the way it exists today. In fact their history begins five hundred years previously, when they were a young species about to embark on the grand adventure of warp travel. But like many species in Messier 4 this stage of their evolution was interrupted by The Myriad, who intervened to cause their planet a ecological disaster. The Myriad stepped in to help, and what followed was a century of servitude to their benefactors The Myriad.
During this century the Cordanti became the vassals for the House of Moths, a group within the Myriad devoted to the shaping of the biological world into useful shapes. Gene-engineered narcotics, designer life forms, world-ending plagues. The Cordanti were keen students of this technology, and soon overtook their Myriad master in its development. One such innovation made on the Myriad’s behalf was a fungal infection designed to create and manage new structures in the brains of humanoids. These new structures, created from the infections life cycle, were a self-organising carbon lattice that tied together parts of the brain that managed religious fixation and tribal instinct.
The Myriad hoped to make a plague that would leave behind a docile and controllable population on any world they visited, that would follow them with the religious fixation of Gods. The faith implant the fungus created did just that, but it did not elevate the Myriad to godhood in the eyes of the Cordanti. Instead, it worked on their existing beliefs, and soon open bloody revolt pushed them off the Cordanti homeworld. The Myriad followed standard procedure, and euthanised the planet with a comet strike and then cut it off from the stellar network.
And that, should have been the end of the story.
But the Cordanti survived, in bunkers and scattered enclaves. And over the centuries to come rebuilt their society, the fungal parasite implant still breeding and growing within each new generation until they once again rose to the stars from their corpse of a planet. Now the Concordance, a single voice and faith, they see their past as their new creation myth.
They were visited by God’s who bestowed upon them the bounty of the stars, but when they rebelled and threw aside their Gods, the vengeful wrath visited upon them wiped away the unjust and unfaithful leaving behind only the Chosen. Those who would rebuild their society and go forth to bring the word of Concordance to the stars. The first world the Concordance found fought them off, but not before the fungal plague took root. When the Concordance returned to press their religious war, they found new allies on the surface willing to aid them in their fight as the fungus picked up the pheromone signal of other infected.
Their faith was infectious.
Once subjugated the planet was ravaged for resources, and more of its dwindling population infected and converted to Concordance. In the end, the survivors watched as the Concordance left carrying away nearly 10% of their people...and then proceeded to bomb and gas the surface. The Concordance believed that their God’s had wiped away the faithless so the faithful would thrive, that this is the natural course of events. Now they travel from world to world, taking the newly infected faithful, and leaving the remainder on a dead world soon to be blasted back to a prior age.
One People. One Faith. One Voice. Concordance.
Ships are rigged to self-destruct upon being boarded or disabled. ALL SHIP, both civilian and military. Death is no disgrace.

Worlds Of Note
Morits Dis, devastated homeworld of the Concordance. Still the centre of their society, with hundreds of orbital facilities and dry docks supporting their evacuated population and warmongering ways. They still use the planet's surface as a colossal strip mine to feed their interstellar war machine.
During the refit and recuperation period of the USS Traveller, Canopus Station is visited by an unknown vessel. Appearing as first to be a sensor echo on the very edge of the Carpathia Star System, the echo begins to randomly jump from one side of the system to the other. Station sensors read the anomaly like the subspace displacement of a ship entering and exiting the Quantum Slipstream. Which each new contact the anomaly seems to close in on the station until it suddenly materialises one hundred meters shy of the Engineering Modules hull well inside the station's perimeter shielding.
The vessel loses power almost instantly, but sensors show life signs aboard though the hull does make more detailed readings impossible to determine. What can be seen on the ships grey hull plating is its name, RCS Dauntless, a name written in Federation Standard. An away team is sent across to assess the damage, and render aid to the crew. Beaming into a cargo bay, they find neatly stacked crates, again labelled in Federation Standard. One warning sign is written in three languages: Federation Standard, Vulcan and Trill.
The rescue team is soon discovered by a security team from the RCS Dauntless, and it is soon discovered that not only do they speak without need of a Universal Translator but that the faces under their EV helmet visors are human face. They state they are members of the Reciprocity of Carcosia Navy, and whilst entering this star system their power plant suffered a catastrophic malfunction causing them to stutter out of the Slipstream.
Agreeing to aid these Carcosian sailors in repairing their craft, more is learned about them. Their ancestors were part of an exodus fleet who fled the Earth/Romulan War inthe 22nd Century. How they arrived in Messier 4, and attained a much higher level of technology than their Milky Way counterparts, is unknown at this time. What is known is that Prior Censor Fields, the guiding intelligence that protects the ancient machines from harm, is countering their ability to power their ship. An Away Team is sent down to Carpathia to disable the Prior artefact discovered in August (2389/08.1). The Carcosians have some knowledge of Prior machinery and have a way of deactivating it. In doing so they awaken a defence mechanism called an Emulation, which is stopped just shy of killing the away team when the Carcosian logic bomb deactivates the White Tower.
In reaction to this, a beam of energy erupts from the now deactivated tower, and reaches out across the Carpathia Star System tp touch three other points in the system: the world of Cinder, an asteroid in the Unicorn-B belt, and down into the heart of the gas giant Tangerine Dream.
Following the Battle Of Canopus Station the near wreck of the USS Traveller is recovered and her crew cared for by Canopus Station personnel. Over the remainder of the month of August, and well into October of 2389, the USS Traveller undergoes a series of repairs and refits that will see her reborn as a Wayfarer-class Battle Cruiser. From gentle explorer to armoured pocket carrier, the USS Travellers mission remains unchanged. It is merely more aware of the dangers beyond the limits of Carpathia.
In this rest bite the crew of Canopus Station begin to focus their attentions on the moon of Carpathia and the Federation colony of Landersfell. Delivering a number of Class Five Industrial Replicators to the colony, the Canopus Station crew are introduced to some of the members of the Colony Administration. It soon becomes clear that the Acheron Colony Corporation, who funded and sponsored the colony ship, was not overly fond of the United Federation of Planets. With maladjusted factions from the borders of Federation space and the inner forgotten worlds cast in the shadow of more prosperous stars in the firmament, tensions are not quelled so easily with a gift from the UFP's military arm.
Elements of Freedoms Legion are in evidence within the colony.

General Information
Description: Populist Movement
Member Noun: Legionnaire
Member Adjective: Legionary
Motto: “Malo periculosam, libertatem quam.”
Slogan: “We Are Legion!”
Headquarters: None Identified
Leadership: Shadow Court (Decentralized)

Structure
Based on initial reports, it was determined Freedom’s Legion was a loose network of cell leaders, colloquially called the Shadow Court, which works behind the scenes to stoke the flames of secession in every frontier and core world of the Federation. No one member of the Shadow Court seemed to aware of all others due to their decentralized and ununified nature. Any declared leader would likely be denounced by other cell groups, in part because it is believed that every protest is somehow backed by a different secondary group.

Public Face
Most members of the movement were peaceful denizens of colonial outreach programs and sympathizers from Federation founding planets who sought to spread awareness of the harsh realities of frontier life to the greater Federation. Their particular emphasis was the strain and hardships of wartime actions on their fledgeling societies. Such peaceful protesters were comprised of spaceport pamphlet holders, survey takers in the streets, and outspoken FNS discussion panels, all of whom rallied on behalf of the alleged “forgotten colonies.” It was alleged by Freedom’s Legion protesters that Federation colonialists who spent their lives tilling a field would inevitably be told by a distant Earth that their world and hard work were exchanged in a treaty to another power who wanted them dead a decade before. It would be likely that Starfleet officers had friends, relatives, and colleagues who sympathized with the public face of Freedom’s Legion.

Extremists
Despite the call for pacifism in the Federation, many of the Freedom’s Legion protests turned violent. In addition to protesters who took their own lives to protest Starfleet’s militancy, it was determined that agent-provocateurs carried Starfleet stun batons among the crowd in order to cast aspersions of violence against civilians. The extremist side of the movement secretly connected the disparate cells by providing arms, communications, and promoting the more bloodthirsty elements. Starfleet Intelligence sanctioned investigations to determine the level of influence from foreign organizations such as the Alrakis Pact, the Cardassian True Way, and others.

Manifesto
It should be noted that each protest ringleader often alters the manifesto with personal anecdotes, grievances, and prejudices, but the core message is as follows:

“Earth. Vulcan. Andor. Tellar. Betazed. Trillius Prime. The Federation. All of these must come first, with all other considerations taking a distant second place. The politicians we vote into power use their Starfleet to reaching out a hand to the stars, and say ‘Mine.’

And when something threatens the core, the idea that is the Federation of Planets, it is the hard work of the Fringe that is spent to buy peace for the inner worlds of the Federation.

When the Cardassians threatened renewed hostilities along their borders, to regain worlds lost during the Dominion War, it was not Alpha Centauri or Earth that were given up on the altar of peace. It was the worlds of Blue Box and Casterfell. It was not Cardassian troops who beamed down to the streets to organize a rout of the public, convincing them by force of will and arms to be uprooted. A Starfleet ship might be billed as a tool of exploration, but do not believe the lies. A phaser array blast from orbit can scour a field clean of life, and a photon torpedo can turn a colony into a glass dish a kilometer wide.

If we raise our voice in question to these actions we are called rabble-rousers and troublemakers! If we ask the question ‘Why my world?’ our patriotism is called into question! And if we ever for a second suggest that this manufactured paradise, this utopia of our own making is not perfect, then we are called enemies of the Federation.

We are Federation no longer. We Are Legion!”
The USS Traveller arrives back where it all began to Messier 4. But instead of finding a stranded colony shipwrecked on the moon Carpathia, they find a fully functional Starbase and a guard fleet. With little time to warn the defenders of Canopus Station, the Reka raiding fleet that had followed them from Beacon fell upon them, and the Battle of Canopus Station began.
In this battle Starfleet had four Wallace-class heavy corvettes, the Norway-class USS Resolute, the heavily damaged Ronin-class USS Traveller, the SCES Please Read The Instructions and a partially completed Carpathia Shore Battery network as well as Canopus Stations own fighter wing.
Arrayed against them were several large Reka Carrier craft, from which a rough estimate puts the total allotment of Reka strike craft at two to three hundred per Carrier.
Long range System Defense Torpedoes from the Shore Battery were able to take out two of the carriers at extreme range. The remaining five closed in, chasing down the Traveller. in the close-quarters combat that followed Starfleet was able to gain the upper hand through tactics and strategy, but at a heavy cost as the USS Traveller was nearly destroyed. Three more of the Reka Carriers were destroyed, with the remaining damaged pair fleeing into the Unicorn-B asteroid belt of the Carpathia Star System. Follow up action was not taken at that time.
