The USS Traveller is launched from the Project Long Jump Accelerator based in the Far Far Away star system. Due to the vaguery of Phase Space travel, the USS Traveller mis-jump's and arrives 80 lights short of the Messier 4 star cluster. It allows the crew to come to terms with their eventful departure from the Milky Way Galaxy.
